Board Member Popoy Del Rosario expressed delight that Bataan youths are being involved in disaster preparedness and response.
“Natutuwa ako na ang ating mga kabataan dito sa lalawigan ay kalahok sa programa na paghahanda sa mga sakuna at emergencies”, he said at the opening of the 2-day youth camp on disaster preparedness and response dubbed Wemboree held at 1Bataan Center, Orani.
He represented Gov. Joet Garcia.
Joet Garcia at Vice Gov.
Glensy Diwa, OIC PDRRMO, said Wemboree is project of DILG but funded by the provincial government through PDRRMO.
She said youth participants toured the state-of-the-art emergency equipment and facilities at 1Bataan Center.
PDRRMO also trained youths on hands-only cardio pulmonary resuscitation and taught them stress debriefing steps.
PDRRMO also conducted simulation drills.
SK Bataan Federated President Precious Manuel shared Del Rosario’s enthusiasm for Bataan youths to engage in disaster preparedness activity.
She said the hundred participants came from various youth organizations in the province.
Facilitators from DILG Bataan personnel came in full force for the smooth conduct of the event.
